The unofficial pub history of PSAC 901: How Queen's Grad Students Formed a Union

Nov 1st at 11am on CFRC radio!
Free to ALL

A decade ago, graduate students at Queen's University successfully unionized as PSAC Local 901, after multiple organizing efforts and various campaign strategies. Today, 901 at Queen's represents over 2000 members - Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, Teaching Fellows and Postdoctoral Scholars. In this event, Doug Nesbitt - one of the organizers of 901 and a labour historian who completed his PhD in History at Queen's, will take us through the early history of the academic workers unionization drive at Queen's, and share his insights on how the union of graduate students was built at the university.
